Visit From A Stranger (Sunday Night Theatre ITV 1 Nov 1970, John Stride)

Visit From A Stranger is a Dennis Potter-esque story about Gillian Groome who is waiting home alone in anticipation of a visit from her lover but instead Gordon Trappe, a man she doesn’t know, turns up and inveigles his way into her apartment. Soon Gillian is in fear of her life.

Stride, who was also on TV the following evening in an episode of his series The Main Chance told the TV Times that he was looking forward to the broadcast of the play as it offered a break from the rigours of a weekly series.
