Follyfoot: The Standstill Horse (ITV 6 Sep 1971, with Petra Markham)

In The Standstill Horse Lewis and his gang of motorcycle hoodlums are causing trouble yet again. They target disabled teenager Ginny who has trained her horse to stand perfectly still while she mounts and dismounts from a special stand. Steve and Dora manage to come to her rescue but Lewis as usual is livid and vows revenge.

Steve inadvertently lets the gang know where Ginny lives and when the farm where she lives is attacked and her horse is killed Steve is convinced that Lewis was responsible – Ron Stryker though says that Lewis was with him at the time of the attack.

Meanwhile Dora trains one of the horses to be the Standstill horse to give to Ginny as a replacement – her father though will have none of it at least until he realises just how much it means to Ginny.

Dora’s caring nature is well to the fore here. Lewis is his none too likeable self but for once he really was with Ron and not out causing trouble. The only trouble with any story lines featuring Lewis is that tend to just go over the same ground each time.
