Screen Australia announces Talent USA: New York recipients 2023

Screen Australia has selected six individuals and two creative teams to travel to New York in 2024 as part of the Talent USA: New York program, where they will attend the Australian International Screen Forum.

Screen Australia’s Talent USA 2024

Screen Australia has selected a group of six individuals and two creative teams to participate in the Talent USA: New York program, which includes attendance at the Australian International Screen Forum in New York in March 2024. The program provides Australian creators with the opportunity to learn and network in the US, as well as participate in professional development activities and receive support from international mentors.

This opportunity is seen as a valuable chance for the participants to establish and nurture new connections, and gain exposure for their work. The Australian International Screen Forum at the Lincoln Center in New York will offer the attendees the chance to engage with industry professionals through roundtables, panel discussions, mentoring, pitching, and strategic consultations.

The selected individuals and teams include Enoch Mailangi, a recent MFA graduate and creator of the award-winning comedy series “All My Friends are Racist“; writing/directing duo Hannah Barlow and Kane Senes, known for their feature “SISSY” and “For Now“; award-winning screenwriter Hannah Carroll Chapman, creator of the hit Netflix series “Heartbreak High“; writer/director Imogen McCluskey, known for her debut film “Suburban Wildlife” and the ABC ME series “Soundtrack to Our Teenage Zombie Apocalypse“; collaborators Michelle Brasier and Sam Lingham, known for their work on scripted comedy and the upcoming feature film “The Alien Abduction of Emily Hill“; writer/director/producer Noora Niasari, whose debut feature “Shayda” won awards and critical acclaim; executive producer and writer Paddy Macrae, known for his work in scripted development at Matchbox Pictures; and writer Tristram Baumber, co-creator of ABC TV’s “The PM’s Daughter” and writer for various series.
