Within These Walls: Lesson Number One (ITV 11 Jan 1974 with Elizabeth Adare)

Within These Walls: Lesson Number One (ITV 11 Jan 1974 with Elizabeth Adare)

In Lesson Number One Faye is not having an easy time with her new team who think she is too soft but Mrs Boswell is more interested putting the welfare of her prisoners first, elderly Mrs Weeks is concerned but she hasn’t heard from her sister for some time, she also goes out of her way to help troubled young mother Peggy Abbott. Stone Park is given a large sum of money by the home office but the staff can’t decide what to spend it on but a tragedy involving a naive inmate points the way forward.

The second episode in the series and one that builds nicely, still concerned with showing Faye Boswell’s progressive attitude and the fact that the warders are still unsure of her. There is also a chance to meet further some of the regular inmates including old Mrs Weeks and the sly Lily Hever.
