On Saturday, June 29, back-to-back encore episodes of 48 Hours will air, each exploring a different senseless crime that cut short the lives of young Americans.
At 9:00 PM ET/PT, “Fighting for Aniah” recounts the disappearance and murder of 19-year-old Aniah Blanchard, a college student and the stepdaughter of UFC fighter Walt Harris. Blanchard vanished in Alabama in the fall of 2019, and the investigation into her disappearance and tragic fate will be examined by CBS News special correspondent James Brown and the “48 Hours” team.
The following hour, at 10:00 PM ET/PT, “The Night of the Idaho Student Murders” revisits the shocking case of the November 13, 2022, deaths of four University of Idaho students: Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin. With a plea of not guilty entered by a judge on his behalf, Bryan Kohberger stands accused of these brutal murders that gripped the nation. Steve and Kristi Goncalves, the parents of Kaylee Goncalves, will share their recollections of that fateful night and the subsequent investigation.
