This time, it’s a $100,000 fixer-upper in Burlington, North Carolina, untouched for over three decades. However, their usual renovation hurdles are compounded by a severe subcontractor shortage, threatening to derail their 50-day timeline and $50,000 budget.
The Polites, aiming to increase affordable housing options in their hometown, are known for their high renovation standards. They clearly aren’t the type to slap on a fresh coat of paint and call it a day. This episode throws a substantial wrench in their plans, forcing them to scramble for replacement workers while the clock ticks relentlessly towards the open house. Will their vision, hampered by labor market realities, be compromised? Can they even find competent help in time?
