60 Minutes, returns to Channel 9 this Sunday, June 23, at 8:05 p.m., with two hard-hitting reports from Adam Hegarty and Dimity Clancey.
In the first report, titled “High Alert,” Clancey sheds light on a deadly new drug, nitazenes, that is poised to become a scourge in Australia. Nitazenes are synthetic opioids, up to a thousand times more potent than morphine, which were developed in the 1950s but shelved due to their extreme danger. Now, they are making a deadly comeback, produced in massive quantities by Chinese laboratories and allegedly shipped to Australia, where they are mixed with other illicit drugs.
The second report, “Corporate Crash,” explores the recent troubles of aerospace giant Boeing, which has faced intense scrutiny and public backlash following two fatal B737 MAX crashes and other incidents. Adam Hegarty interviews Boeing whistleblowers, who disclose disturbing allegations of subpar practices and cover-ups, raising questions about the safety of air travel.
