“60 Minutes” Premieres with 10.5 Million Viewers, Tops Sunday Ratings

The 57th season premiere of “60 Minutes” on CBS drew 10.48 million total viewers, making it Sunday’s top non-sports program, according to Nielsen live plus same-day ratings for Sunday, Sept. 15.

“60 Minutes” led its time slot in both total viewers and adults 18+, with 10.02 million viewers and a 3.9/17 rating. The broadcast easily outperformed ABC’s “The 76th Emmy Awards,” which attracted 6.90 million viewers, by a margin of 52%.

The CBS newsmagazine ranked among the top 10 broadcasts for the week, placing as the #6 primetime broadcast in both total viewers and adults 18+, and #9 in adults 25-54.

The Sept. 15 edition of “60 Minutes” featured Scott Pelley’s report on the Jan. 6 Capitol riot prosecutions, Cecilia Vega’s coverage of tensions between China and the Philippines in the South China Sea, and Anderson Cooper’s interview with Grammy-winning pop star Dua Lipa.
