On Birthday Maneuvers, the latest episode of 7 Little Johnstons, the Johnston family prepares for two upcoming milestones: Liz’s c-section and Alex’s 18th birthday.
They conduct a trial run to coordinate their actions in case Liz goes into labor early, but the first attempt is chaotic due to oversleeping, forgotten keys, and a lack of shoes. However, they improve on their second try. The family is relieved that the baby doesn’t arrive before Alex’s birthday, allowing him to enjoy a Top Gun-themed celebration.
They play a celebrity guessing game, and Alex goes shopping and buys lottery tickets and energy drinks. He also spends time with his girlfriend, Allie, taking her to a trampoline park, a significant place for their relationship.
Meanwhile, Liz and Brice put the finishing touches on the nursery, incorporating some of Brice’s belongings to create a bond between him and their soon-to-be-born daughter, Leighton.
Liz encourages Brice to be a stricter parent, concerned that he’ll always be the “good cop” to her “bad cop.”
Alex, facing his fear of fireworks, sets them off to bid Allie farewell as she leaves for home.
