In CI2, the Monday night episode of FOX’s 9-1-1: Lone Star, the team faces a major crisis after a train derailment causes a toxic chlorine cloud to spread. The firefighters and paramedics work to contain the situation while saving those caught in the explosion and cloud.
Among the casualties is a reporter who ignored warnings, along with Damon, a young man trying to reach his brother. The situation worsens when the crew runs out of water, leading to an explosion that complicates the rescue efforts.
As the 126 responds, station leader Owen looks for someone to promote to lieutenant. Firefighter Marjan takes bold risks in trying to stop the propane leak caused by the crash, putting her own health at risk when her protective gear fails.
Though she successfully contains the leak, the team soon realizes Damon is still trapped under the wreckage. Marjan and Paul stay behind to search for him, and Paul eventually rescues Damon thanks to a phone call from his brother.
Meanwhile, paramedics race against time to treat a burned child and locate the affected reporter. Tommy and her team manage to find the reporter, Trina, but she later succumbs to her injuries. Amid the chaos, Judd returns to save Owen and Damon just as a wind shift redirects the toxic cloud, allowing the rescue team to escape.
