A Restaurant, a Race, and a Romantic Comedy: The Wedding Rule Premieres June 9 on UPtv

Former childhood friends and former teen coworkers are bequeathed a restaurant with one big condition: they must be married to claim their inheritance. With just three weeks to find “the one,” the race is on and romance might just be on the menu. This is the premise of UPtv’s The Wedding Rule, which premieres on Sunday 9 June 2024.

The romantic comedy television film stars Brittany Charlotte Smith, Dennis Andres, Joey Coleman, and Julie Nolke. Smith is known for her roles in The Naughty Nine (2023) and I Won’t Let You Go (2022), while Andres, a German-Canadian actor, has appeared in Workin’ Moms and Feel the Beat. Coleman, a graduate of Vancouver Film School’s Acting for Film and Television program, has been acting since his youth, booking small commercials and photo shoots. Nolke, an actor, writer, and award-winning filmmaker, is also the creator of a self-titled comedy YouTube channel with over a million subscribers.

The Wedding Rule marks Nolke’s first lead role in a film, and she stars opposite Andres, who is already a regular lead actor. The film explores the story of two former childhood friends who find themselves in a race against time to fulfill the conditions of their inheritance. With a mix of comedy and romance, the film offers a nice balance, and some top-notch dialogue.
