ABC News is set to air “Bruce Springsteen: Backstage and Backstreets,” a primetime special featuring George Stephanopoulos interviewing Bruce Springsteen. Timed to complement Springsteen’s upcoming documentary, “Road Diary,” (hitting Hulu and Disney+ on October 25th), the special is a glimpse into Springsteen’s recent tour, with access to the musician, his team, and the E Street Band. The special airs October 20th at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC, followed by streaming availability on Hulu and Disney+.
The special takes a look at Springsteen’s career and personal life, including his first public statements about his health and the challenges faced by his wife, Patti Scialfa. Footage from Springsteen’s Washington, D.C. concert and the Toronto Film Festival is included, along with a visit to the iconic Stone Pony in Asbury Park.
Stephanopoulos also interviews members of the E Street Band, providing additional perspective on working with Springsteen.
