ABC News’ “Nightline” continues its ratings dominance, securing the top spot in total viewers for the fifth week in a row, outperforming CBS’ “After Midnight” and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” for the week of October 7th. Averaging 903,000 total viewers, “Nightline” also saw a year-over-year increase.

This win solidifies the program’s strong start to the season, maintaining its number one ranking in total viewers, adults 25-54, and adults 18-49 for the third consecutive year.

The program’s success extends beyond weekly wins, with season-to-date total viewership averaging 1.002 million, its largest audience in five years. This week’s “Nightline” covered a range of topics, including the anniversary of the attacks on Israel and the ongoing war in Gaza, Hurricane Milton, legal battles involving Sean “Diddy” Combs, and a discussion with Eva Longoria on Latino representation in Hollywood.

Other segments included the rescue of stranded Himalayan climbers, Marilyn Manson’s denial of abuse allegations, and a feature on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

It’s worth noting that CBS’ “After Midnight” aired a repeat on Tuesday, October 8th, which was excluded from the weekly averages, resulting in CBS’s averages being based on four days instead of the usual five.

“Nightline,” anchored by Juju Chang and Byron Pitts, airs weeknights on ABC from 12:35 a.m. to 1:05 a.m. EDT. Eman Varoqua serves as executive producer. The program also offers original documentaries available on ABC News’ digital platforms and Hulu.
