The upcoming Apple TV+ series Land of Women presents a unique blend of comedy, drama, and thrill. Premiering on June 27, 2024, the series follows Eva Longoria as Gala, a New Yorker forced to flee with her mother and daughter to northern Spain after her husband incurs a debt to dangerous criminals.
With her husband vanished, Gala seeks refuge in her mother’s hometown, a charming wine village. Here, she hopes to start afresh and keep her family safe from those seeking her husband. However, their anonymity is short-lived as gossip spreads, compromising their identities. This triggers a journey of confrontation as they are forced to unravel long-buried family secrets.
The series is inspired by the bestselling novel of the same name, penned by award-winning author Sandra Barneda.
Land of Women’s cast includes Carmen Maura as Julia, Gala’s mother, who fled her hometown 50 years ago. Santiago Cabrera, Gloria Muñoz, Victoria Bazua, and Amaury Nolasco also join the ensemble. The series was filmed in Barcelona and will feature dialogue in both English and Spanish.
