Apple TV has announced the return of “The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin”, starring Noel Fielding, for a second series. The commission comes after the success of the first series, which aired earlier this year.
The show offers a whimsical take on the legend of British highwayman Dick Turpin. In this irreverent retelling, Dick, played by Fielding, is a reluctant leader of a band of outlaws, known more for his charm, showmanship, and great hair than his robbery skills.
The first series saw Dick set out on a series of wildly absurd escapades, doing his best to outwit the corrupt lawman and self-appointed thief-taker Jonathan Wilde, portrayed by Hugh Bonneville.
The show features a stellar cast of guest stars, including Greg Davies, Jessica Hynes, Paul Kaye, Guz Khan, Diane Morgan, Connor Swindells, Laura Checkley, David Threlfall, and Colin Hoult.
“The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin” is a fun and playful twist on historical fiction with Fielding’s signature surrealism well to the fore.
Season one is available to watch on Apple TV+ now.
