Join Roo Irvine for a royal-themed episode of Bargain Hunt, airing on BBC One this Friday, June 21. In today’s episode, Roo catches up with royal memorabilia collector Paul Smith to discuss his unique collection of rare royal souvenirs.
The teams are shopping at the Oswestry showground, and the red team, friends Brad and Sam, are joined by expert Philip Serrell. They’re on the lookout for a Victorian silver miniature coronation throne to add to their collection. Meanwhile, the blue team, mother and daughter Sarah and Kate, team up with expert Ben Cooper, and they’ve been challenged to find a brass or copper item.
The reds are hoping their miniature throne will reign supreme, while the blues are confident their metal item will shine at the auction. As the teams scour the showground for hidden gems, they encounter a variety of interesting items, from antique furniture to unique collectibles.
With their purchases made, the teams head to the auction in Wrexham, where auctioneer Matthew Tong wields the gavel. Tensions rise as the items go under the hammer, and the teams eagerly await the results. Will the reds’ royal-themed choice pay off, or will the blues’ metallic pick steal the show?
