The brand new UKTV Original series, Battle In The Box, makes its debut with a double bill on Tuesday, July 16, on U&Dave. This competitive comedy and reality hybrid show, hosted by Jimmy Carr, promises an entertaining blend of celebrity challenges, tight quarters, and a unique twist. All episodes will also be available as a box set on U from the same date.
In each episode, a pair of celebrities are locked inside a small box for a full day and night, competing for pride, prizes, and precious floorspace. The eight-episode series will feature four tense double-bills, pitting eight pairs of celebrities against each other in a battle for survival and comfort.
Kicking off the series are former EastEnders actor Joe Swash and award-winning comedian Seann Walsh, who team up to take on comedians Harriet Kemsley and Lara Ricote. Across two episodes, the two teams will spend 24 hours in The Box, an empty space with nothing but a toothbrush, cameras, and each other for company. No beds, no home comforts, and a moveable wall that can shrink their space at any time—the pressure is on.
Jimmy Carr orchestrates a series of physical and mental challenges, testing the celebrities’ skills and endurance. Winning a game means earning more space and luxurious items, but there’s a catch. As one team gains more room, the losers are forced into an ever-smaller space, with the sliding wall of the box constantly reminding them of their losses.
In the first episode, the challenges begin, and the teams must fight to earn every inch of space they can. Who will adapt to these challenging conditions and who will crack under the pressure? Find out in the premiere of Battle In The Box.
