BBC Announces New Seasons of ‘The Traitors’ and a Celebrity Spin-Off

The Traitors

The BBC has announced the return of the popular reality game show The Traitors with two more seasons, including a nine-part celebrity version. The reveal was made at the Edinburgh TV Festival in 2024.

Since its launch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in 2022, The Traitors has become a phenomenon, drawing a large audience and earning critical acclaim. The show’s mix of strategy, suspicion, and trust has been a winning formula.

The first series was well-received, but the second series saw a significant surge in popularity, with 46 million views on BBC iPlayer and an average of 8.1 million views per episode. The Traitors is the biggest new entertainment brand in the market for 16- to 34-year-olds. The show’s third series will air later this year.
