In the third episode of ABC Australia’s “Better,” Lou finds herself at the heart of a delicate operation as she delivers a sealed package, all while aware of Col’s watchful eye and his latest drug procurement plans. Col, facing a shortage in his drug supply, recklessly decides to contact an associate in Bradford, despite the existing deal with the Bradford-based gang led by the formidable Malik brothers.
Lou and Vernon, determined to bring Col down, struggle to devise an effective strategy until Lou recalls Col’s Bradford connection. Vernon takes action by offering a cash incentive to his friend, Lynne, requesting that she inform the Bradford police about Col’s planned meeting. However, their scheme takes an unexpected turn when Col’s men, upon arriving in Bradford, are ambushed by masked individuals sent by the Maliks.
The twist comes as Lou and Vernon discover that Lynne had actually alerted the Maliks instead of involving the police. Col’s fury over the ambush sparks an ambitious idea—he sees the potential for a gang war with the Maliks as an opportunity to expand his territory. Lou, seeking to prevent a violent conflict, proposes planting drugs on the Maliks to frame them and remove them from the equation.
Col’s team attempts to execute this plan by planting drugs in the Maliks’ car, but they encounter challenges, leading Bulgey to call it off. Lou, quick on her feet, convinces them otherwise, assuring them that she can successfully plant the drugs once the Maliks have been pulled over. A fake anonymous tip is made to the OCT, claiming that the Malik brothers are transporting drugs into Leeds. Lou, along with Esther, leads a team to intercept and search the Malik’s vehicle.
The operation unfolds, with Lou managing to plant the drugs, but a potential witness, Esther, catches a glimpse of her in the act.
