“The Bold and the Beautiful” isn’t exactly known for its subtlety. But sometimes, amid the soapy machinations and improbable plot twists, it delivers a solid dose of guilty-pleasure drama. Friday’s episode was one of those times. Electra’s anxiety about a stalker and a hidden past? Check. A potential hostile takeover at Forrester Creations? Double-check. And Bill Spencer still wrestling with his feelings for the woman he sent to prison? You know it.
Electra’s budding romance with Will is facing some serious headwinds, mainly in the form of a stalker named Remy and a secret that’s making her more nervous than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. The threat of worldwide exposure looms, thanks to some not-so-subtle hints from her frenemy Ivy. Remy’s escalating obsession is full of suspense, though it’s the kind of suspense you find in a slightly dusty dime novel, not a Hitchcock thriller.
Meanwhile, Hope, freshly unemployed, isn’t taking her firing lying down. Teaming up with Carter, she’s cooked up a plan to snatch control of Forrester Creations. Her suggestion? Make Carter the CEO. It’s audacious, sure, maybe even borderline delusional, but it wouldn’t be “B&B” without a healthy dose of corporate intrigue. Carter, after some initial hesitation about deceiving Ridge and Eric, eventually decides to climb aboard the crazy train.
Then there’s Bill, our resident brooding billionaire, still wrestling with his feelings for Luna. He receives another letter from her, which only intensifies his inner turmoil. Luna, it seems, is adept at pulling strings even from behind bars. Whether her intentions are pure or manipulative… well, that’s the million-dollar question.
Steffy remains steadfast in her decision to rid Forrester of Hope, causing friction with Eric and Zende.
The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays at 1:30 PM on CBS.
