BritBox has started production on “Lynley,” a new four-part adaptation of Elizabeth George’s popular crime novels. Leo Suter stars as the aristocratic Detective Inspector Tommy Lynley, paired with the working-class, maverick Detective Sergeant Barbara Havers, played by Sofia Barclay. The series focuses on the unlikely partnership between these two contrasting personalities, bound by a shared commitment to justice.

Daniel Mays joins the cast as DCI Brian Nies, whose resentment towards Lynley stems from both class insecurity and professional rivalry. The cast also includes Niamh Walsh as Helen Clyde, a former classmate and potential romantic interest for Lynley, Michael Workeye as tech specialist Tony Bekele, and Joshua Sher as forensic scientist Simon St. James. Filming is currently underway in Ireland.
