On Tuesday, July 9, CBS Mornings welcomes retired track and field athlete Allyson Felix and singer-songwriter, actress, and philanthropist Dolly Parton to the show.
Allyson Felix, a retired American track and field athlete, joins the show to discuss her athletic career. Felix is the most decorated woman in Olympic track and field history and the most decorated American track and field athlete in Olympic history, with 11 Olympic medals and 20 World Championship medals. She is also a ten-time U.S. national champion and has won six additional Olympic gold medals as part of the United States women’s relay teams.
Senior national correspondent Anthony Mason talks with Dolly Parton about her decades-long career in country music, acting, and philanthropy. With over 100 million records sold worldwide, Parton is one of the best-selling music artists of all time. She has had 25 singles reach No. 1 on the Billboard country music charts and has composed over 3,000 songs, including “I Will Always Love You,” “Jolene,” and “9 to 5.” In addition to her musical achievements, Parton has also been recognised for her philanthropic work, receiving a second star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2018 and a Grammy award in 2020.
