On Friday, August 9, CBS Mornings welcomes actors Blake Lively and Brandon Sklenar, and author Ron Johnson. Lively and Sklenar will discuss their new movie, It Ends with Us, while Johnson will talk about his book, 13 Days in Ferguson.
Blake Lively stars in It Ends with Us as Lily Bloom, a florist who falls in love with a dashing neurosurgeon, Ryle Kincaid (played by Justin Baldoni), and reconnects with her childhood sweetheart, Atlas Corrigan (played by Brandon Sklenar). The film is an adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling 2016 novel of the same name.
Brandon Sklenar, who plays Atlas, is also known for his role as Spencer Dutton in the Western drama 1923. In It Ends with Us, his character is the object of Lily’s affection during her teenage years, and the two must deal with past trauma when they unexpectedly reunite.
Ron Johnson, a 30-year law enforcement veteran and former Missouri State Highway Patrol captain, will discuss his book, 13 Days in Ferguson, which chronicles his experience in the aftermath of Michael Brown’s fatal shooting in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014. Johnson, an African American, took on the challenging task of restoring peace between the African American community and the local police. He shares his perspective on the events, the impact on his personal life, and his vision for addressing racism and prejudice in America.
