Channel 4 Announces New Scripted Sam Campell Comedy Series “Make That Movie”

Channel 4 has announced “Make That Movie,” a six-part scripted comedy series created by 2022 Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Sam Campbell and directed by Joe Pelling. The show follows a hotshot director, played by Campbell, who travels the country in search of everyday people with an idea for a film. Campbell and his team then race to turn these ideas into movies in just three days.

The series stars Lara Ricote as runner Jess, Aaron Chen as intimacy coordinator Sebastian, Helen Bauer as sound engineer Pat, and David Hargreaves as cinematographer Winnie.

“It’s a bit like one of those shows where they fix up someone’s garden,” said Campbell, “But this is about something people genuinely care about – movie magic. Let’s be honest with ourselves, a garden has never grossed over a billion dollars at the box office…”

“Make That Movie” is produced by the award-winning Blink Industries and has been commissioned for Channel 4 by Charlie Perkins and Joe Hullait. Executive producers include James Stevenson Bretton, Sam Campbell, and Joe Pelling, with William Kay serving as the producer. BBC Studios will handle international distribution.
