Channel 4 has announced its comprehensive coverage of the 2024 U.S. presidential election, set to air live on November 5th. Titled America Decides: US Election Results (working title), the eight-hour program is produced by ITN Productions and will run in collaboration with CNN.
It will be led by Channel 4 News anchor Krishnan Guru-Murthy, joined by Emily Maitlis, co-host of The News Agents podcast. Both presenters will broadcast from Washington D.C., following their successful coverage of the 2024 UK general election.
In a Channel 4 debut, Jeremy Vine will front the program’s “data hub” from London, delivering real-time analysis and infographics of key battleground states. Also contributing will be Channel 4 News presenter Matt Frei, with on-the-ground reports from various swing states. Frei, an expert on U.S. affairs, has hosted key Channel 4 documentaries on Donald Trump and moderated the first presidential debate earlier in the election cycle.
The program will feature a range of political figures and commentators, including controversial guests such as Stormy Daniels and Michael Cohen. Additional contributors will include former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, former Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, and other well-known voices like Caitlyn Jenner, James Carville, and actor Brian Cox. The show will provide a cross-section of American political opinions with Democrats, Republicans, and media personalities taking part in discussions throughout the night.
The production is Channel 4’s first collaboration with CNN, allowing for shared resources such as guests, data analysis, and coverage from CNN’s award-winning correspondent John King. The broadcast will also be available on Channel 4’s YouTube, TikTok, and streaming platforms.
The program is produced by ITN Productions.
