The team at Irv’s Resto Shop in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, well known for their world-class classic car restorations, will be the focus of UKTV’s new series, Classic Car Kings. This six-part series, commissioned for the factual channel U&YESTERDAY and free streaming service U, is set to air in 2025.
Classic Car Kings will focus on the extraordinary work of Paul “Irv” Irving and his three sons, along with their crew of skilled professionals. Their expertise in rescuing classic cars that seem beyond repair has earned them a reputation as restoration royalty. The team consists of welders, fabricators, blasters, painters, and mechanics who combine their knowledge, skills, and passion to bring vehicles back to life.
Produced by Chatterbox Media, the series will feature a variety of demanding restoration jobs. Each episode will present unique challenges, with vehicles including a 1973 Lamborghini Espada, a 1968 Porsche 911, a 1978 Daimler Coupe, a 1980s Ford Escort RS, a 1949 VW Beetle, and a VW Samaba bus from the 1950s that arrives as a cardboard box of bits.
The U&YESTERDAY original series has been commissioned by Emile Nawagamuwa, Commissioning Executive, with Helen Nightingale, Head of Factual and Factual Entertainment Commissioning. It was ordered for U&YESTERDAY by Channel Director Gerald Casey and Director of Commissioning Hilary Rosen. Nav Raman and Ali Quirk serve as Executive Producers for Chatterbox Media, with Richard Heeley as Series Producer and Phil Broadhurst as Producer/Director.
Classic Car Kings is currently in production and will premiere on U&YESTERDAY and the streaming service U in 2025.
The series joins other popular U&YESTERDAY originals focusing on automotive restoration, such as Dream Car Fixers and Bangers & Cash: Restoring Classics. Other notable U&YESTERDAY shows include Secrets of the London Underground, Canal Boat Diaries, and Find It, Fix It, Flog It.
