Dancing with the Stars: Disney Night (ABC, October 22, 2024)

Dancing With The Stars Key Art

Dancing with the Stars transforms into a magical kingdom for Disney Night, promising a dazzling display of sparkle, pixie dust, and hopefully some decent dancing. Eight remaining couples take on the challenge of embodying beloved Disney characters and films, hoping to impress the judges and avoid a trip to the elimination dungeon.

The opening number, set to “Friend Like Me” from Aladdin, features a special appearance by Broadway’s Genie, Michael James Scott, and enough glitter to make Tinkerbell jealous. A brand-new song from Moana 2, “We’re Back,” gets its broadcast debut, performed by the troupe and eliminated pros, reminding us that the Disney hype machine never rests.

Individual dances span a range of styles, from jazzy sambas to passionate tangos, inspired by films like Tarzan, Wreck-It Ralph, Zombies 2, Encanto, Hercules, 101 Dalmatians, and The Little Mermaid. The always-anticipated team dances return, with Team Goofs tackling “I2I” from A Goofy Movie and Team Roar taking on “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” from The Lion King. Expect controlled chaos, questionable choreography, and hopefully a few genuine laughs.

The judges – Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough – are ready to dispense their critiques, while hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough keep the energy high. Viewer votes, combined with the judges’ scores, determine which couple faces elimination.

Dancing with the Stars: Disney Night airs Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 8:00–10:01 p.m. EDT/PDT on ABC and Disney+, simulcasting live across local time zones, with streaming available the next day on Hulu.
