Netflix has announced the renewal of Keri Russell starring The Diplomat for a third season, ahead of the premiere of its second season on October 31. The political drama, which has garnered critical acclaim since its debut in 2023, will continue with production taking place in London and New York City.
The news was confirmed by Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria during her appearance at the Bloomberg Screentime Conference in Los Angeles. The series, created by Debora Cahn, has earned multiple award nominations, including from the Golden Globes, Emmys, and Screen Actors Guild, and became a standout hit for the platform.
Season 1 of The Diplomat premiered in April 2023, quickly topping Netflix’s global charts, with over 173 million hours viewed within four weeks. As of now, no additional details about Season 3 have been released, but more information is expected in the coming months.
