Josh Gates embarks on a journey to the ancient city of Petra, Jordan, in the two-part season premiere of “EXPEDITION UNKNOWN.” The episode explores how a mysterious desert civilization constructed one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

With special permission to excavate in front of the iconic Treasury building, Gates seeks clues about the enigmatic Nabatean kingdom and uncovers an ancient tomb, contributing to the rewriting of historical records.

Gates, driven by a deep curiosity for legendary mysteries, investigates some of the world’s most iconic unsolved events. His adventures take him across the globe, often into dangerous situations, as he searches for lost cities, buried treasures, and sacred artifacts. Utilizing his background in archaeology and a unique sense of humor, Gates offers fresh insights into age-old stories.
