The third episode of Emergency, which is airing on Channel 4 each weeknight this week, takes viewers to various hospitals in London and southwest England.
Paratrooper Lee, who suffered catastrophic injuries in a paragliding accident in France, remains at the Royal London Hospital. Spinal surgeon Brett and orthopaedic surgeon Pete perform a risky procedure, using bone hooks and levers to treat Lee’s severe spine, pelvis, and leg injuries.
At St George’s Hospital in south-west London, 86-year-old Veronica is rushed in after a car accident with her husband, Edward. Doctors attend to her severe open ankle fracture and work to assess the extent of her injuries, including the possibility of a vascular issue that could threaten her foot.
Heidi, a victim of a vicious dog attack, undergoes surgery at St Mary’s Hospital. Plastic surgeon Georgina describes her wounds as the most extensive she has ever seen.
Meanwhile, 56-year-old plasterer Lee is airlifted to the hospital following a head-on car collision. After a challenging extraction process that lasted over an hour, Lee is placed in an induced coma by the emergency doctors.
Emergency Season 3 Episode 3 airs Wednesday, 14 August 2024, at 9:00 pm on Channel 4.
