Emma Willis returns to UKTV for the fourth season of Delivering Babies, and this time, she’s taking on a new challenge. After an 18-month break from her work in maternity services, Willis embarks on a new role at Watford General Hospital in Hertfordshire, a larger hospital than her previous placement.
Over ten weeks, viewers will witness Willis step up her training as she strives to qualify as a Maternity Support Worker (MSW), a promotion from her previous position as a Maternity Care Assistant (MCA). Under the guidance of a dedicated team of midwives, Willis assumes more significant responsibilities in caring for women and their families throughout pregnancy and childbirth. She also takes on a more hands-on role in monitoring the health of newborn babies.
To become an MSW, Willis undergoes continuous assessment, demonstrating her proficiency in the skills acquired as an MCA while also learning vital new techniques for caring for new mothers and their infants. Once qualified, she faces her most significant challenge yet: running an ante-natal clinic for expectant mothers entirely unsupervised.
In the season premiere Willis aims to make a good first impression, but her plans are derailed when she forgets to bring the appropriate shoes, forcing her to call her husband, musician and actor Matt, to the rescue.
Emma Willis: Delivering Babies, Season 4 Premiere, airs Thursday, September 5, at 9:00 p.m. on UKTV, with the full box set available to stream on U&W.
