BritBox has released the first look images from its upcoming original series Outrageous, a six-part drama about the infamous Mitford sisters. The series, set to premiere in 2025, stars Bessie Carter as Nancy Mitford, one of the six aristocratic sisters known for their scandalous lives and refusal to conform to societal norms.

Outrageous captures the glamour and scandals of the Mitford sisters’ shocking true-life story, set against the backdrop of 1930s British high society. The series explores the sisters’ complex and often dangerous paths, their family bonds and betrayals, political extremism, love, and heartache. It looks at how these women, unwilling to conform, became ahead of their time.

The cast includes Joanna Vanderham as Diana Mitford, Shannon Watson as Unity Mitford, Zoe Brough as Jessica Mitford, Orla Hill as Deborah Mitford, and Isobel Jesper Jones as Pamela Mitford. Toby Regbo portrays their brother, Tom, while Anna Chancellor and James Purefoy play their parents, Muv and Farve.

The series is created and written by Sarah Williams, based on Mary Lovell’s definitive biography, The Sisters. It is produced by Firebird Pictures, one of BBC Studios’ production labels, with Elizabeth Kilgarriff, Matthew Mosley, Craig Holleworth, Robert Schildhouse, Jess O’Riordan, and Stephen Nye serving as executive producers.
