True crime series For My Man returns with an intense episode titled “Reckless Love Rampage.” Airing on TV One on 24 July 2024, the episode tells the story of Sharae Threadgill and Jalen Benton, who embarked on a dangerous crime spree.
Sharae Dominique Threadgill, 21, and Jalen Sean Benton, 18, sparked a multi-state manhunt after a series of violent crimes, including an attempted armed robbery and a carjacking. The young couple’s reckless journey began in Meridian, Mississippi, and ended in a dramatic high-speed chase and their arrest in Warren County, Mississippi.
On 24 March 2023, 30-year-old Philip Whitaker was shot and killed in Columbus, Georgia. The tragic incident is believed to have resulted from a failed armed robbery attempt at the Summerwood Apartments on University Avenue. Threadgill and Benton are the prime suspects in this heinous crime.
The couple’s crime spree didn’t end there. They went on to carjack a mother and daughter, taking them hostage. During the chase that ensued, Benton fired shots at the deputies pursuing them. The hostages managed to escape when one of them, who was forced to drive, slammed on the brakes.
The manhunt ended when Threadgill and Benton were captured and arrested by authorities in Warren County, Mississippi.
