FOX Announces Fall 2024 Schedule

FOX has announced its fall 2024 schedule, introducing a range of new and returning series. The lineup includes the animated comedy “Universal Basic Guys,” the Hawaii-set lifeguard drama “Rescue: HI-Surf,” and the murder mystery series “Murder in a Small Town.”

New Series

Universal Basic Guys: Premiering on Sunday, September 8, immediately following the FOX NFL doubleheader, “Universal Basic Guys” is an animated comedy from creators Adam and Craig Malamut. The series centers on brothers Mark and Hank Hoagies, who find themselves with time and money to spare after losing their jobs at a hot dog factory. With a basic income of $3,000 per month, they embark on a journey of self-discovery and unique experiences. The show is co-produced by FOX Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television, with Dan Lagana serving as executive producer and showrunner for the first season.

Rescue: HI-Surf: Making its series debut on Sunday, September 22, following the FOX NFL doubleheader, “Rescue: HI-Surf” is a pulse-pounding lifeguard drama set in Hawaii. Produced by Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment Studios, the series follows the dedicated and heroic first responders who patrol the dangerous waters of O’ahu’s North Shore. Robbie Magasiva, Arielle Kebbel, Adam Demos, Kekoa Kekumano, Alex Aiono, and Zoe Cipres lead the cast, with Sea Shimooka, Shawn Hatosy, and Ian Anthony Dale in recurring roles. Matt Kester serves as creator, executive producer, and co-showrunner.

Murder in a Small Town: Based on the Edgar Award-winning novels by L.R. Wright, “Murder in a Small Town” stars Rossif Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk. Premiering on Tuesday, September 24, with a special 90-minute episode, the series follows former detective Karl Alberg as he moves to a quiet coastal town, only to find himself entangled in a web of secrets and mysteries. Mya Lowe, Savonna Spracklin, Aaron Douglas, and Fritzy-Klevans Destine recur, with James Cromwell, Stana Katic, Paula Patton, and Noah Reid as special guest stars. Ian Weir serves as head writer and executive producer, with Milan Cheylov as executive producer and director.

Returning Series:

FOX’s fall schedule also includes the return of several popular series:

– “9-1-1: Lone Star” (Season 5): Starring Rob Lowe, the drama follows the members of Austin’s 126 Fire Department as they face personal and professional challenges. The fifth season begins on Monday, September 23, with a multi-episodic storyline that puts their lives in danger.

– “Hell’s Kitchen” (Season 23): Chef Gordon Ramsay returns with a “Head Chefs Only” theme, focusing on leadership skills in the culinary world. Filmed at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut, this season features a talented group of head chefs from diverse backgrounds. Premieres Thursday, September 26.

– “The Masked Singer” (Season 12): The Emmy-nominated singing competition returns with special theme nights and hidden clues. Host Nick Cannon and panelists Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke, and Rita Ora are back for more guessing and fun. Premieres Wednesday, September 25.

– “Crime Scene Kitchen” (Season 3): Hosted by Joel McHale, with judges Curtis Stone and Yolanda Gampp, this culinary guessing game intensifies with pairs of family members and friends competing to recreate desserts and win a $100,000 grand prize. Premieres Thursday, September 26, following “Hell’s Kitchen.”

FOX’s beloved “Animation Domination” block returns on Sunday, September 29, with new seasons of fan-favorite animated series:

– “The Simpsons” (Season 36): The longest-running primetime scripted show in television history continues with hilarious and innovative stories, including a shocking birthday party for Bart and terrifying Halloween episodes.

– “Bob’s Burgers” (Season 15): The Belcher family is back with more adventures in their seaside New Jersey hamburger restaurant. This season, Bob and Louise face challenges in boogie boarding and catering, while Tina becomes an anonymous advice columnist.

– “Krapopolis”: Created by Dan Harmon, this animated comedy set in ancient Greece follows a dysfunctional family of humans, gods, and monsters trying to run a city. In the upcoming season, the city hosts the wild Ice Week festival, and the characters navigate relationships and restaurant openings.

Unscripted Shows:

FOX also offers a range of unscripted shows to engage and entertain viewers:

– “The Floor” (Season 2): Premiering on Wednesday, September 25, following “The Masked Singer,” “The Floor” returns with a bigger and more interactive game floor, challenging 100 contestants to expand their territory and avoid elimination.

– “Next Level Chef” (Season 2): The culinary competition series returns for a second season, challenging chefs to create extraordinary dishes with everyday ingredients.

– “LEGO Masters” (Season 3): The hit show that celebrates creativity and LEGO building returns for another season of brick-tastic builds and imaginative challenges.

FOX has also announced a lineup of additional series for the 2024-2025 season, including dramas like “Alert: Missing Persons Unit,” “The Cleaning Lady,” and “Doc”; comedies such as “Animal Control,” “Family Guy,” “Going Dutch,” “The Great North,” and “Grimsburg”; and unscripted shows like “Extracted,” “LEGO Masters: Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular,” “The Real Full Monty,” and “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.”
