Gemma Arterton reprises her role as Sophie in the second series of Funny Woman, and she’s riding high. Sophie has become the nation’s favourite TV comedy star, enjoying a circle of good friends and a blossoming romance with Dennis. However, their relationship faces a significant challenge as Dennis’s divorce is expected to take three years.

The series, based on Nick Hornby’s book Funny Girl, centres on the rise of Blackpool beauty queen Barbara Parker, who transforms into a comedy superstar and captures the hearts of the nation.
