The Girl Who Wasn't Dead Key Art

Saturday night’s Lifetime Original Movie, The Girl Who Wasn’t Dead, is inspired by true events and centres around the mysterious disappearance of 15-year-old Erica (portrayed by Emma Tremblay) and her unexpected reappearance three years later. Authorities and Erica’s mother, Carrie (Lydnsey Fonseca), initially suspected that she had fallen victim to a local serial killer. However, the truth was far stranger.

When Erica vanished, it sparked a wave of concern, and many believed she had met a grim fate. Yet, in a surprising twist, she reappeared during her murder trial, revealing that she had been living in secrecy with her 21-year-old boyfriend, Andrew (Kyle Clark), less than a mile from her mother’s house. Erica had chosen to run away and live a secluded life, hidden from those who knew her, including her mother, due to their disapproval of her relationship.
