GMA3: Aaron Lazar, Laphonza Butler, Karin Slaughter, Alex Guarnaschelli (ABC, August 20, 2024)

GMA3 What You Need To Know

On Tuesday morning GMA3: What You Need to Know welcomes Broadway legend Aaron Lazar, Senator Laphonza Butler, bestselling author Karin Slaughter, and chef Alex Guarnaschelli to the show.

Aaron Lazar, a Broadway actor and singer, will share an update on his journey with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Lazar, diagnosed with ALS in 2022, has chosen to focus on healing and acceptance rather than seeing the disease as a “fight”. He has connected with lead researcher Dr Richard Bedlack of Duke University and hopes to be one of the rare cases of ALS reversals.

Laphonza Butler, the junior United States senator from California, is an American labour union official and politician. She is the first openly LGBT member of the U.S. Senate from California and its first black LGBT member. Butler will discuss the Democratic National Convention.
