On Tuesday, July 23, GMA3: What You Need to Know welcomes poet Angela Du, former reality star Bill Rancic, chef Sunny Anderson, and actress Emma Corrin.
Fifth grader Angela Du, joins the show to discuss her win in the Celebrate America Creative Writing Contest. Angela’s award-winning poem, ‘Stories of Us,’ is a powerful reflection of her own experiences as the child of an immigrant family. Vividly recalling the stories her father shared about his journey from China to America, Angela offers a unique and important perspective on the challenges and contributions of immigrant families in the United States.
The Celebrate America Creative Writing Contest invites fifth graders from all over the country to share their thoughts and stories about immigration, challenging them to explore the themes of ‘Why I Am Glad America Is a Nation of Immigrants’ and ‘What Does It Mean to Be A Welcoming Nation?’ Through this contest, young writers like Angela have the opportunity to celebrate the diversity and inclusivity that make our country great.
Bill Rancic, a former cigar business owner turned reality TV star, joins the show to talk about his new podcast, Dollar Bill with Bill Rancic. Rancic, who rose to fame as the season one winner of The Apprentice, is now a sought-after motivational speaker and serial entrepreneur. He shares personal finance insights and lessons from his entrepreneurial journey, including his current multi-million dollar real estate enterprise in Chicago.
Chef Sunny Anderson, known for her appearances on Food Network’s The Kitchen and Outrageous Pumpkins, will discuss her culinary career and experiences with ulcerative colitis. Anderson combines classic comfort foods with unique flavours inspired by her travels. She has also authored the New York Times bestselling cookbook, Sunny’s Kitchen: Easy Food for Real Life.
Emma Corrin, an actress known for her role in The Crown, will talk about her upcoming film, Deadpool & Wolverine. Corrin portrays the film’s main villain, Cassandra Nova, a parasitic life form born on the astral plane. The film marks the live-action debut of the character, who was first introduced in New X-Men #114.
