On Friday, June 7, 2024, GMA3: What You Need to Know welcomes Tony-nominated playwright Jocelyn Bioh, Grammy-award-winning singer-songwriter Lainey Wilson, Grammy Award-winning rapper Method Man, and actor Michael Rainey Jr.

Bioh, a Ghanaian-American writer, playwright, and actor, joins the show to discuss her playwriting career and her recent Tony nomination for “Jaja’s African Hair Braiding.” Bioh’s plays, including “School Girls; Or, the African Mean Girls Play” and “Nollywood Dreams,” aim to humanize people and emotions while finding something positive in tragedy and destroying stereotypes.

Lainey Wilson, the multi-award-winning singer-songwriter and actress, joins Robin Roberts for an interview. Wilson’s sophomore album, “Bell Bottom Country,” topped Billboard’s Top Album Chart and Country Albums Chart, amassing over 650 million streams to date. Wilson also made her acting debut in Season 5 of Paramount’s “Yellowstone,” where she played a musician named Abby.

Method Man, born Clifford Smith Jr., is an American rapper, record producer, and actor. He is a member of the East Coast hip-hop collective Wu-Tang Clan and has a successful solo career, with critically acclaimed albums such as “Tical” and “Tical 2000: Judgment Day.” Method Man has also appeared in various films and TV shows, including “Power Book II: Ghost,” “Oz,” “The Wire,” and “The Deuce.”

Michael Rainey Jr., known for his role as Tariq St. Patrick in the original “Power” series, currently stars in the Starz spin-off “Power.” Rainey Jr.’s other acting credits include “Orange Is the New Black,” “Ghost,” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”
