On Wednesday’s episode of Channel 4’s Grand Designs, Kevin McCloud follows the journey of holistic therapist Kara and electrician Jonny, who are taking on the ambitious task of building a unique family home in the picturesque rolling hills of West Yorkshire.
Motivated by Kara’s recent paralysis due to a rare autoimmune condition, the couple is determined to create a space that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also empowers Kara and helps her regain a sense of independence.
The couple’s vision for their new home is grand, as they aim for a striking stone and zinc four-bedroom house. However, with financial constraints, Jonny finds himself taking on a significant portion of the construction work.
As challenges arise, both Kara and Jonny are pushed to their emotional and physical limits, but they refuse to compromise on their dream. Their unwavering commitment to their vision may just redefine the concept of accessible design.
