An upcoming episode of Green Eyed Killers explores the tragic death of 29-year-old attorney Ryan Poston, who was shot and killed by his girlfriend, 21-year-old Shayna Hubers, on October 12, 2012. The episode airs on Crime & Investigation on Wednesday, 19 June 2024, at 9:00 pm.
Ryan Poston and Shayna Hubers had a tumultuous relationship, marked by Hubers’ obsessive behaviour and Poston’s desire to end the relationship. On the night of the murder, Hubers showed up unannounced at Poston’s condo, interrupting his planned date with Audrey Bolte, Miss Ohio 2012. An argument ensued, leading to a fatal outcome.
Hubers claimed self-defence, stating that Poston was abusive and that she feared for her life. However, her behavior following the incident and during her interrogation raised suspicions. She made light of the situation, cracking jokes and singing, while also making incriminating statements, such as admitting to shooting Poston in the face because “he wanted a nose job.”
Shayna Hubers was ultimately convicted and sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Ryan Poston.
