Jon Hamm’s Animated Grimsburg Adds Martin Short to Season Two

Grimsburg Key Art

Let’s be honest, sometimes the world of adult animation feels like a nepo baby convention. So, naturally, Fox’s Grimsburg, starring Jon Hamm as a detective more adept at identifying furniture than his own flaws, is bringing in a literal nepo baby character for season two.

Martin Short, fresh off another season of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, joins the cast as Otis Volcanowitz, Grimsburg’s newest (and youngest) detective. Otis, whose parents just happen to be major donors to the town’s volcano-dump-owning mayor, insists his kid-detective skills landed him the job. Sure, Otis. Whatever you say.

We’ll see how Otis fits into the already eccentric Grimsburg ecosystem, which includes Hamm’s Marvin Flute, his ex-wife (Erinn Hayes), his son (who is, let’s just say, a work in progress), and a colorful collection of fellow detectives voiced by Rachel Dratch, Alan Tudyk, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Greg Chun.

Will Otis crack under the pressure of Grimsburg’s mean streets, or will the horrors of third-grade cubbies leave him uniquely prepared? We’ll find out when season two hits Fox (and streams the next day on Hulu).

Grimsburg is produced by Bento Box Entertainment for Fox Entertainment. Catlan McClelland and Matthew Schlissel created the series and co-executive produce with showrunner Chadd Gindin. Jon Hamm, Gail Berman, Hend Baghdady (The Jackal Group), and Connie Tavel executive produce.
