Netflix gears up for another dose of suspense with the release of Harlan Coben’s “Missing You” this January. Following the impressive success of “Fool Me Once,” which garnered over 108 million views, “Missing You” marks the latest installment in Netflix’s ongoing partnership with the bestselling author.
The series centers on Kat Donovan, a detective specializing in missing persons, played by Rosalind Eleazar. Eleven years after the disappearance of her fiancé, Josh, Kat’s world is turned upside down when she spots his face on a dating app. This discovery compels her to reopen the investigation into her father’s unsolved murder, unearthing long-buried secrets along the way.
“Missing You” boasts an impressive cast, including Ashley Walters, Richard Armitage, Sir Lenny Henry, Steve Pemberton, Jessica Plummer, Mary Malone, Lisa Faulkner, and James Nesbitt. Armitage is a Coben regular by this stage. After appearances in The Stranger (2020), Stay Close (2021), and Fool Me Once (2024), Missing You will be his fourth role.
The five-part series, produced by Quay Street Productions, adapts Coben’s novel, relocating the story from the US to the UK, a common practice in Coben’s Netflix adaptations.
This series marks the ninth on-screen adaptation of a Coben novel under his five-year deal with Netflix, promising yet another twisty thriller for fans of the genre.
