Hulu is developing a scripted series set in the world of professional football, marking Dan Fogelman’s third project with the streamer.

Described as a “multi-generational family drama,” the untitled series will reportedly have a “sprawling” storyline centered on the NFL, with Fogelman securing a collaboration with the league, similar to his approach with the baseball drama Pitch.

Fogelman is already an executive producer on Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building and is developing the thriller series Paradise, starring Sterling K. Brown.

The “multi-generational family saga” description of the new project draws comparisons to Fogelman’s hit series This Is Us, though the NFL focus may give it a more niche appeal.

Football did, however, feature in This Is Us, with the Pearson family’s Steelers fandom. Fogelman himself is a lifelong New York Giants fan.
