Hulu is set to premiere new Latin American comedy series, UFO Factory (Fabricantes de Ovnis), on its platform on April 3, 2024. The show was first announced by Disney earlier this month.
UFO Factory takes place in the ruined mining town of Ogarrio del Cobre, where the few remaining residents are desperate to attract tourists in order to pay off their debts to the government. When Dalí Montoro (Jeronimo Best), a forty-year-old who uses lies to hide his failing life, arrives in town, the villagers convince him to help them fake a UFO crash to bring much-needed revenue into the town.
The series has been directed by David Pagan Mariñez and Luis Hernández Kilo and stars Jeronimo Best, Jose Carlos Rodriguez, Odysseus Bichir, and Susana Alexander.
Hulu has a packed schedule for April, adding new seasons of Vanderpump Villa and The Fable, along with the premieres of several documentaries and unscripted shows. UFO Factory joins a slate of new and returning series on the streamer, including the highly anticipated The Veil, FX’s American Horror Story: Delicate Part 2, and Star Maidens.
UFO Factory’s premise has a quirky charm that could capture the interest of viewers seeking an escapist fantasy. The series is likely to resonate with fans of satirical and absurdist comedies, especially those who appreciate a unique blend of humor and intrigue.
