True-crime docu-series, The Hunt for the Chameleon Killer, premieres on SundanceTV on Thursday, following the global search for ‘The Chameleon Killer,’ Elaine Parent. This three-part series explores the twisted path of an identity thief and murderer, beginning with a gruesome discovery in a Florida canal in 1990.
The series tells the story of Elaine Parent, a woman accused of murdering 34-year-old Beverly McGowan, whose headless and handless body was found in the canal. Law enforcement embarks on a major investigation, following a trail of stolen identities and false leads that takes them from the US to London.
With the case going cold, a twelve-year cat-and-mouse chase ensues as authorities strive to capture one of the world’s most wanted criminals.
Was Elaine Parent a serial killer? What motivated her crimes? These are the central questions that the documentary aims to answer.
The Hunt for the Chameleon Killer premieres on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 10:00 PM ET/PT on SundanceTV, with the full series available for binging on AMC+ and Sundance Now.
