The anthology series Inside No. 9 returns with it’s penultimate tale, “Curse of the Ninth,” airing on BBC Two on Wednesday, 5 June. The episode transports viewers to an Edwardian setting with distinct MR James overtones, where a skilled piano tuner finds themselves entangled in a chilling situation.
In this episode, the piano tuner, invited to a large country house, encounters its owners and servants, who reveal a centuries-old curse that haunts them. The story unfolds as the tuner is forced to confront the power of this ancient curse, leading to unexpected twists and darkly comic moments.
“Curse of the Ninth” continues the tradition of Inside No. 9, presenting a standalone story filled with the show’s signature blend of comedy, thriller, and supernatural elements. Created by Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith, each episode of the series takes place behind a door marked ‘number 9.’ There is now just one episode left before the series comes to a close after nine fabulous seasons.
Inside No. 9: Curse of the Ninth airs on Wednesday, 5 June 2024, at 10:00 PM on BBC Two.
