ITV has commissioned a new comedy series called “Piglets” from Monicker Pictures. The show is set in a fictional police training college and follows a group of six newly recruited police officers and the staff members responsible for training them. The series aims to showcase both young comedic talent and established star names among the senior college staff.
The writing team for “Piglets” includes Victoria Pile, Robert Harley, James Henry, Oriane Messina, Fay Rusling, and Omar Khan. Pile, Harley, and Leifer will also be involved in directing and producing the series. The show will feature a diverse cast and has worked closely with four new writers who are part of ITV’s Comedy Writers Initiative, which aims to promote underrepresented writers in comedy.
Filming for “Piglets” is set to begin in early January 2024, with the series scheduled to premiere on ITVX in the summer. The show is produced in association with ITV Studios who will also handle international distribution.
