Jake Makes It Easy Double Bill (FYI, Monday, November 18, 2024)

Jake Makes It Easy Key Art

FYI’s Jake Makes It Easy is doubling down on culinary convenience with two new episodes airing Monday, November 18, 2024. First up, at 10:00 PM ET/PT, Jake tackles a balsamic and soy-glazed brisket, paired with a seemingly simple apple honey cake. Will the brisket achieve melt-in-your-mouth perfection, or will it be tougher than a week-old bagel? And can a honey cake truly elevate itself beyond mere teatime fare? The answers, my friends, are just a short commercial break away.

At 10:30 PM ET/PT, the second helping arrives with a schnitzel sandwich featuring celery root remoulade and — because why not? — chocolate chip cookie brittle. Jake’s take on the classic fried chicken sandwich gets a European makeover, but will the celery root remoulade be a refreshing counterpoint or a root vegetable overload? As for the brittle, let’s just say my skepticism about dessert-adjacent cookie concoctions runs deep. Still, Jake’s enthusiasm is usually infectious, even when the dishes seem… questionable.

While the press materials tout Jake’s easy-to-follow instructions and dishes suitable for all occasions, I’ll reserve judgment until I’ve seen the celery root remoulade in action. One thing’s for sure: This double-header offers a chance to pick up a few new kitchen tricks — or at least marvel at Jake’s culinary ingenuity.

Jake Makes It Easy airs Mondays at 10:00 PM and 10:30 PM ET/PT on FYI.
