The show will also welcome stand-up comedian and Brooklyn native Jon Laster, who will discuss Blapp—the Black Shopping App he created to support Black-owned businesses. Laster, who has built a career on making people laugh, was inspired to create the app after marching in a protest following George Floyd’s murder. The app, set to launch in early August 2021, will allow users to shop from a wide range of Black-owned businesses, from restaurants to florists.
